Independent by design
We do not write for a party, a candidate, or an outrage cycle. We write for the record, But Smiddy writes for his manifesto.
About the publication
This Might Sting is independent political analysis for middle-of-the-road voters who want more than a quote, a clip, or a team jersey.
The assignment
Politics shapes the rent, the work, the schools, the rights, and the futures we share. It deserves honest opinion that can handle the details without demanding a party jersey or hiding behind jargon.
We follow the power (we still fighting it too Chuck ✊), translate the process, and make room for voters who are not interested in cheering for either side. If a story needs context, we bring the receipts.
The fine print, without the tiny type
01
We do not write for a party, a candidate, or an outrage cycle. We write for the record, But Smiddy writes for his manifesto.
02
When we get something wrong, we correct it plainly and we’ll apologize just like BP(by simply saying “oh our Bad”)
03
We don’t redact shit.
The point of view
We believe public life gets better when people can see how decisions are made, who benefits, and what happens next. Skepticism is not cynicism(except Rizz he’s cynical AF)It is asking the obvious follow-up, especially when nobody else in the room does.
“No hot takes without receipts. We have women on the staff and they definitely save the receipt…”
That is the whole pitch
The best political conversation is the one that leaves room to change your mind after seeing the whole file.
